TRUTH
2 + 2 = 4
This is the page on this website that defines all others. Without an understanding of truth, any rational explanation will be words, words, words to you. If you only have time to read one page on this website, this is the one. It will serve you in every area of life.
Definitions
Dictionary:
- Truth: the property of being in accord with fact or reality.
Etymology:
- Truth: from root deru- "firm, solid, steadfast," and suffix -th denoting action, state or quality.
When combined, we get: that which is correct, conformity of thought with fact.
Physical reality
If you have two eggs in one hand and two eggs in the other and you combine them, you have four eggs. That is objective reality.
To express this in the conceptual world, you replace the two eggs in one hand with a “2” and the two eggs in the other hand with another “2.” You use the “+” sign to add them and you write 4 after the “=” sign, like this:
2 + 2 = 4
Because you tested it in physical reality, you know for a fact that this is a true statement. Two eggs plus two eggs equal four eggs, period. You don’t need to believe it or agree with it, it stands on its own without your approval or validation. That, is truth.
Correct vs incorrect
So “4” is the correct answer. But “5” is incorrect. In fact, there’s an infinite number of incorrect answers. And there’s only one correct answer.
If we look at the world in absolute terms, not only do we have correct things, we have incorrect things as well. Transferring this idea to life, we have correct actions and incorrect actions. We call them right actions and wrong actions. People take those actions, so people can also be right or wrong.
If I take an egg from you without your consent, I decrease the value of your property. This is an incorrect action. We also call such an action “theft.” And the use of the word “wrong” is appropriate.
This is the true divide in the world: truth vs falsehood, or right vs wrong. The other divisions in society are false dialectics designed to hide this primordial divide of right vs wrong. Think political, racial, and socio-economic dialectics, to name a few, that plague our communities; all there to keep you distracted.
Subjective relativism
Some people claim that truth is relative and that it’s all just an opinion. They say that if your truth works for you, then it’s all good. If you talk to people in the world today, you know this belief to be present all over.
This is a big problem, because if truth is relative, we can’t ascribe wrong to anyone or anything. So there’s no right or wrong, because according to “their” truth, actions that would otherwise deemed wrong universally are not wrong to them. Since conscience is based on knowledge, conscience is no longer a concern to these people, as one can’t possibly know anything for a fact since facts are relative.
This belief leads to moral relativism, which means that there’s no right or wrong, and then social Darwinism, which is about getting ahead in society regardless of the harm caused to others. You know, like when people try to sell you stuff you don’t need...
In my experience, this type of people are not subjective relativist all the time. I have noticed in many conversations that their relativism shows up on a selective basis. In other words, truth is an opinion when it’s convenient to them. It’s their way of abdicating personal responsibility.
What subjective relativists don’t realize is that truth does not go away just because they choose to ignore it. In physical reality, the cat does not disappear just because we’re not looking at it. The concept of correct vs incorrect is still active in the absolute, working in the background. This is regrettable for them because they will still be held accountable for their actions in the end.
Truth as guide
If we expand our mind a little and light up the 2 + 2 = 4 expression and let it shine amidst an infinite number of incorrect answers which we’ll call darkness, we end up with a glowing mathematical expression in infinite darkness. An illustration of this can be found in the movie A Beautiful Mind when the main character picks out glowing numbers from the code on the blackboard.
Truth is the light that guides us in life. It is the basis for conscience. Truth shows us the correct way to live and evolve. Remember, we’re still talking about 2 + 2 = 4. We haven’t entered the realm of belief or religion, even if it sounds a bit like it. We are still in rational thought.
Engineers prefer to build bridges with 2 + 2 = 4, not 2 + 2 = 5. The Trump towers would never have stood the test of time otherwise. The WTC seems to have been built on incorrect math though... unless it was carefully demolished. And Apollo would never have made it to the moon. Oh wait, it never did. Please forgive me for ruffling your attachments to common falsehoods. Check out my deprogramming course if you’re truly bothered.
My friends, if you live in truth in every aspect of your life, regardless of how inconvenient, difficult and even risky at times, you will serve as a beacon of light in your communities. Yes, they will hate you for telling the truth. But who would you be if you didn’t? Plus, it’s fun to watch them flee for their lives when you shine light on them, like roaches in a California kitchen.
Taking it home
When I explain important concepts about health, life, conscience, evolution, etc., it is based on truth. Who has time for opinions, right? Yet I get rejected by subjective relativists who throw at me the “just one man’s opinion” argument. They then proceed with their lives thinking they’re correct. Unfortunately, they’re incorrect, as described above, and their belief is harming them and the people around them. Moreover, because it is contributing to chaos in the world, it is harming all of us.
Most important of all, they don’t realize that the encounter itself is binding. One day, they’ll be faced with a question of the following nature: “You mean to say that over the course of your entire lifetime, you’ve never come across someone who could have taught you how truth works so you could change your ways?”
